turtles safe with fake plants or need real plants only?

Following the article that goes over this (https://aquariu.ms/article/9-semi-aquatic-turtle-g…) I would avoid not using or getting any silk/plastic plants, since they tend to try to eat everything which would lead to an internal compaction from the plastic/silk (it's not food, so it would dissolve in their stomach or digestive tract).
