Man, this is a tough one! If I could keep literally any fish, Iâd have to go with an Arowanaâspecifically a super red Asian Arowana. Those things are like dragons swimming in your living room! Ridiculously cool, but honestly, theyâre not for the faint of heart or for anyone with a small wallet. They get huge, need a monster-sized tank, and can be super picky with their water conditions. Plus, letâs be real, their price tags are basically a punch in the gut. But still, can you imagine the bragging rights?
On a more realistic note, I think keeping a nice school of Congo Tetras would be awesome. They flash all that iridescent color and donât act like total jerks to each other. Way less drama than with some of those cichlid tanks. Speaking of drama, anyone ever try keeping Oscar fish? Those guys are like the frat boys of the aquarium worldâalways starting something, knocking stuff over, and begging for food.
Anyway, dream fish for me = Arowana. Practical choice? Congo Tetras, hands down. Love hearing everyoneâs picks thoughâso many cool species out there, but not everyone wants to sign up for a daily stress test!
Iâd love to keep a betta sorority in a large, heavily planted tank. Their colors and personalities are amazing, though I know getting the setup and compatibility right can be tricky.
