We actually have a really detailed page about clamped fins, what it's causes are, and possibly treatments if you want to read more; https://aquariu.ms/freshwater/disease/clamped-fins/ Thanks! I must have overlooked this…

What Causes Clamped Fins?
This is something I have never experienced myself but a friend of mine is almost certain a few of his fish have this issue. I have never even heard of it before. Can someone explain what this is, what causes it, and if…

White spots disease?
Having had ich in a tank before, it is pretty obvious to stop. It can quickly wipe out a tank full of fish so you want to get on treatment as soon as you see the spots.
This is something I have been told before. Just have a tank set up separate from the main one so keep fish separated before putting them in. I am considering using my current 5 gal tank to do this when I get a bigger…

Are parasites common in fish?
I thought this fish I had seen at the pet shop might have parasites as it appeared to have something thin and long wiggling around inside of it. When I told one of the workers, they said they would let the manager know.…
I completely clean it out. Remove all the water and I throw the substrate out and get new substrate. If the plants can be cleaned, I will clean them otherwise I will just get new ones. I make everything sit out to dry…
When I was younger, I had a 30 gallon tank I believe it was that had a mix of different fish. One of them came down with ich and I did not treat it fast enough. Everything died but the one goldfish that was in the tank.

My fishes are restless
This greatly depends on the kind of fish you are talking about and how long you have had them. Some fish will be restless when they have been placed in a new tank and can take up to 10 days to normalize their behavior…
Fish get sick very easily due to poor water quality, over-feeding, and general bad genetics. This is why it is best to buy fish from breeders who know what they are doing over standard pet shops that import their fish…
All fish are susceptible. This is why keeping your tank water clean and balanced is important. It not only prevents disease but it keeps it from spreading if it does arise from a sick fish or contaminated plant.
There are specific plants and stones you can use in your tank to help keep the water more balanced and healthy for the fish. I can't think of them off the top of my head but you can google search for them. Loads of…
I think the most common are parasitic infections overall. These tend to spread very easily and fast. I know ich is up there as well but I have only had one experience with it and it seems to be more rare than people let…
To be fair, it's nothing that you may be doing, but rather than poor genetics when it comes to guppies and other super popular freshwater aquarium fish. Dropsy is normally just a term for when a fish has liquid…
Some fish can grow slower due to the size of the tank. What size do you have them in and are they kept with anything else?

What causes Dropsy in guppies?
I have a tank with shrimp and fancy guppies. I have had them for a while now since they keep breeding and bringing the numbers back up but I have lost several to dropsy and I can't figure out what is causing it. Does…
