Have you ever known your fish to fight?
Something I can't say I ever noticed when I had my fish is whether they ever fought or not. As much as I was doing a lot of work on the tank at the time when I had one, all my fish seemed to get on and I never had any…
You may have many fish in your tank at the moment and even though you chose them because you like those specific kinds of fish, you may also still have one kind in your tank that you find is your favourite compared to…
Something I have never intentionally done it breed freshwater fish. I know that there are some people who like to breed fish and it is something that they do regularly but I can imagine that would take a lot of time and…

Have you ever seen a unique coloured freshwater fish?
Whenever I have either had freshwater fish or whenever I have seen them in say pet shops, I always tend to see the same ones and they all tend to be a colour you would expect them to be. I have never seen any fish that…

Fish you'd recommend to clean the tank?
Something I always remember when I was a kid was us having fish that would clean the glass of the tank we had. I can't for the life of me remember the name and I can't remember if there were more than just one type of…

Unusual things to feed fish?
I have heard of some things that people give their fish to eat and some of them whilst a little different are not what I would call unusual if I am honest. When it comes to feeding your fish, what is the most unusual…

The most expensive freshwater fish you have bought?
Freshwater fish are something I am more keen on taking care of as I know more about them than say saltwater fish. I have only ever bought fish such as goldfish and minnows though and they are quite cheap when you buy…
If you had the chance to keep any kind of fish species in a tank you have, which kind of fish species would you choose? I am not sure if there are any kinds of fish that are not able to be kept but those could be an…

Ever wondered how fish sleep?
I always remember, right from being a kid I would associate fish that were not moving but just still and floating in the water as being asleep even though their eyes are always open. Fish do not seem to have eye lids so…

Is there anyway to tell how old a fish its?
Something I have always wondered, with almost any other animal, there is a way to be able to tell what sex an animal is but with fish, this is something I have never known and I am not even sure if there is a way to be…

What is the worlds smallest freshwater fish?
Similar to my world's smallest saltwater fish, I thought it would be nice to have a thread for the world's smallest freshwater fish. I was always under the impression that minnows were the smallest freshwater fish but I…

Do fish need to chew their food?
Something I have always wondered and I have never had it answered even though I have had fish myself and I have observed when I have fed them to see if I can find an answer to my question but I have not been able to. Do…
Whenever I have had a tank or even friends that have had tanks as well, they never really have a centerpiece so to speak but more just a school of different species of fish that we know will get on and we will not have…

Colorful vs. Dull Fish
As much as I do prefer colorful fish, I also like to see a mixture as well in terms of colorful and dull fish. I feel if you have the space to accommodate both kinds then having a mixture is best. Sometimes I feel that…

Fish species ID
At first look, I did think they could maybe be pacific blue eye fish as the colors and also the colors of the eyes as well would indicate that was the case but I could also be wrong. Hoping someone else could shed some…

Cory catfish vs goldfish
I have never had any cory catfish and have always gone for goldfish for any tanks that I have had. It is very true that goldfish are the worst for leaving a lot of mess and that can sometimes make it harder for you as a…

Rainbow fish
I will admit that I have seen rainbow fish and I love the colors on them and they are amazing to look at and see but I have never had any rainbow fish, it has always been goldfish.
This is quite interesting and something I was unaware of. It has always been different to tell the difference between a livebearer that may be bloated or pregnant. I actually find it quite fascinating that if they are…
