Do you use a preset heater or buy adjustable ones?

I’m trying to figure out on which one is worth the price, since I see a ton of them being preset, and others being adjustable. I can understand if you need the tank to be hotter or colder than the standard 78 degrees - but not sure what other benefit it has. Is one way more reliable than the other?

Adjustable ones allow for you to turn it down (in case you live in a hotter area, or if you want to keep other fish later down the road) - plus they help if you need to raise the temperature at anytime in case of quarantine or medicine related reasons.

Preset ones can be good if you are only going to keep a specific species, or if you have a smaller tank and just want it to always work (although they tend to be smaller heaters which if you live in a cold area, can’t keep up).
