Hitchhikers
Have you ever brought something new into the tank, either live rock, various species of fish that were ordered, or other aspects and noticed days or months later you had hitchhikers? Did you keep them, or did you kill…

Do you source all of your food from the same company?
With all of the various brands out there, do you source all of your food from the same company or do you buy from multiple other companies?

Do you run multiple chillers in the same tank?
With many who run sensitive species, having a backup running in the pipeline or having two units that (if something were to happen to the other) could keep the tank going under sub-optimal conditions, do you run two…
Any new updates?! How big is the turtle now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Good point, no big updates minus the one Chinese Algae Eater got eaten (and some of the danios shockingly), and a movement of the filter…
Any idea on the fix for the “Like” on Tapatalk at all? Otherwise no complaints (minus the new marketplace not being supported through Tapatalk). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The reaction system from Tapatalk is…

What brought you into the freshwater aquarium hobby and are you still in it after your first tank?

no brackish sections?
We’re currently working on adding in freshwater and saltwater content first, and then we will add in brackish. This is later since it’s a mixture of both, with less overall items (articles, forum layout, etc.).

What brand of tank stands do you use?
Since there are so many different brands that make tank stands, ranging from the size or just due to the weight alone, what brand(s) do you normally stick to and why?
I tend to use both, but it really depends on the tank size and even the dimensions. Sometimes there are dead spots that would just look too ugly in my eyes to have a wave maker placed so I just put a stand-alone protein…

Do you use substrate?
Do you use any substrate in your marine tanks or do you go bare bottom with them? If so, what made you use (or not use) substrate?
In all of your tanks do you have the same substrate, or do you use different substrates and colors even if you have leftover bags from previous tanks?

What was your hardest algae to remove from your tank?
Out of all of the different types of algae that you can have in your tank, what is the hardest type of algae that you have encountered that just didn’t want to go away? What was your solve for that and what finally let…
The only real difference between them is mostly what type of plant, and how much sunlight it requires. Plants like dwarf hair grass, Anubias nana tend to be in those packages since they are smaller and require sunlight…

Spread of Invasive Zebra Mussels
If you have recently purchased any plants or moss balls from Petco/Petsmart, or someone who uses the same Breeder as them, you may want to be on the look out for these highly invasive mussels. An important alert from…
Super late reply, but yes! Mine has them in stock in low quantities. Might be everywhere now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I’ve seen them in some stores although at very low stock. Plus their prices aren’t the…

Fiddler Crabs
I’ve owned them once or twice, they can be really fun but the issue is that many stores keep them in pure freshwater which isn’t good for them. Also make sure that you cover every single hole since they are escape…
I mostly soak mine is a mixture of vinegar and water for a few hours. Then depending on if there is anything dirty, I use a magic eraser with water and scrub it all off (or use those like bathroom toilet brushes to get…

When you either notice something is off, or if you use one regularly, so you use any tools or devices to detect or track any diseases in your tank(s)?

African vs. South American Cichlids
Between the two, which is your go to (or your avoid at all costs) option and why? Have you kept any species from either category, and if so, how did it end up?
It depends on where it’s going. If I know it’s going somewhere cold, I’ll add heating pads - likewise if it’s going somewhere hot, I’ll add cooling pads to try to not overcook or overheat. As far as medicine, I avoid…
