Yo, these are all killer points! Let me throw one more classic rookie blunder into the mix: impulse buying that neon-glowing fish at the store just because it looks rad, without checking if it actually vibes with your…
Good water quality and quarantining new fish can prevent a lot of problems. Definitely better to catch it early before it spreads!
Axolotls have to be my favorite! They look so unusual, almost like little cartoon characters. Definitely important to research each species’ care needs before adding one to the tank.
The impact of the aquarium hobby on endangered species is nuanced and varies significantly with species and collection practices. For species commonly found in the trade and lacking effective regulation, overharvesting…
I recently ordered energy-efficient lighting for my aquarium because the old light was getting pretty hot and running for hours every day. Hoping the new one will be better for the fish and help keep my electricity bill…

It really depends on the fish species and tank size. I’d start with small portions and make sure everything gets a chance to eat without leaving too much uneaten food. Keep an eye on your fish’s body condition and water…
Protein skimmers are especially useful in saltwater tanks because they remove organic waste before it breaks down and affects water quality. Just make sure the skimmer is properly sized for your tank’s bioload.
So true! It’s all about creativity and making the most of what you have
