I would avoid it but that's just me.
With this sort of thing happening more frequently with climate change, it seems like a good reason to finally buy a generator for my tanks.
I fill mine up.
It is easiest to learn by doing, I think.
Keeping them in their own tank as Avery mentions is what has worked best for me in the past.

I would love to start keeping these, but I am not set up for it!
Most easy trait even when young is that they have claws on their arms (ACF) where as ADF just have claws on their feet. Their eyes are also on different positions, ADF have their eyes on the side and ACF have their eyes…
There are supposed to be painted turtles in my area, but I have never seen any.
