We have a bunch of new items to go over that we have recently added, changed, or modified in their current state. We list below some of the high-level changes and are even going to show you some of the planned changes that we are currently either exploring as options, in the work of modifying/creating, or have on the to-do list once some other items get progressed more.
Recent Changes
- We have upgraded to a newer, more modern community software solution that will enable for us to expand accessbility options to our members. Included in this, is a brand new theme that includes both a light (default) and dark color option, along with better visibility on mobile devices than our prior themes we had.
- A direct result of this, you may have noticed that aspects being under utilized have been removed (Shops, for example has been removed as it become more time consuming to keep track of all locations, when their hours change, and if any given shops were closed permanently or only temporarily - along with prior attachments or images that were stored within the Gallery).
- We have expanded upon our Classifieds section, with a new automated method of submitting what you are looking for or want to sell to members, along with a newly redesign Trade Center which allows for the feedback between those who do proceed with the buying/selling to rate eachother on their experience.
- We have enabled more strict checking of members to protect your security, from now, if you sign onto a new device (which will be everyone the first time you do sign back in), you will need to verify that this is correct through a 2FA method.
- We have enabled more enhanced notifications, including being notified when someone not only directly messgaes you but also tags you in other threads, posts on your profile, or provides feedback our new services (Classifieds). Currently this is limited to web browser notifications and emails, however we plan to expand this very shortly to other methods as well.
- We have enabled a new feature that allows for you to share images (in a similar fashion to uploading a story on Facebook or Instagram), which will have those given images/videos automatically self-delete within a 24-hour window. We plan to expand upon this to incorporate more social media related functions and features, to make this community feel like forum like and more brought up to speed with newer communities.
Upcoming Planned Changes
- We are currently working on re-adding all of the pages back, along with images to articles that have been removed. This may take time, however all previously created content is still saved and stored (just not visible due to a work in progress on the new routing/navigation system).
- We are currently working on expanding this out by re-enabling third party sign ups and sign ins (such as Facebook, Discord, X, etc.) along with adding additional 2FA method (SMS, WhatsApp, etc.) in order to allow for members to create an account, or to sign in faster. We are also working on enabling PassKeys so allow for users to not require any specific password combination and use a more secure method or storing account credentials on their device(s).
