Suggest some live aquatic plants that do not need substrate to thrive in the aquarium?

There are quite a few aquatic plants that survive without a substrate namely Java fern, Java moss, Hornwort, Anacharis, Duckweed etc.

Marimo Moss Ball are probably my favorite as they are compact, grow over time, and actually absorb a lot of toxins in the aquarium. I have 3 or 4 in my tank at this point but the largest one expanded over some rocks so it looks like a rug. lol

Duckweed would be a good and easier choice and it's said that goldfish love eating duckweeds.

They come in all sizes. You can get them as small as a dime or as large as a softball.

I get the ones that are about an inch to two inches big. They are easy to clean, similar to cleaning a sponge.

Funny, this is just the information I was looking for after reading the thread about the bare bottom tank.
