Just wanted to update this since I was there a few days ago, and they have a ton of different shrimp species and colorations that are priced pretty good for their market rate.

I think if you don’t want to get a new light fixture or change the specific bulbs out, you can always use something rated for the temperatures your light outputs that have a cloudy-like effect (similar to what doctor offices use on their lights on the ceiling).
Otherwise, you can try to dim the light before it hits the tank surface by applying a cloudy film over the glass lids (something similar to a thin wrap they on Amazon) to make it dimmer.

I always tend to free them randomly every day so they don’t so much expect when their next meal will come (and it will make them act as natural as possible).

I thought that they had lost their license for selling live animals, which is why all of the fish departments have been removed and they just sell their generic branded tanks, equipment, filters, and other aquatic care items.

Kinda looks like snail eggs, although either some have been eaten off or it's something completely as others noted (eggs are laid down in clusters or groupings and not spread around like this so widely).

I like glass as it's easier to clean, and won’t get scratches if someone rubs against it such as gravel, or rocks/decorations inside of the tank.
Acrylic on the other hand is the winner overall in my eyes.

How often do you inspect your equipment to make sure that it’s running correctly, doesn’t have any leaks or possible issues (such as a weird spot forming on a heater, or a gasket having barely any line around the seals in a filter)?

Do you have any sort of dividers, filtering media, or other unique things setup inside of your sump?

As every tank is so different, how often do you end up cleaning your skimmer to make sure it's running at optimized efficiency?

Since many people kinda just believe what store employees may tell them, how do you get others (who you may or may not know) to do research and learn the actual steps of setting up an aquarium before doing so?

I think there might be a shortage with a ton of various livestock, especially if they are coming from overseas due to shipping backlogs and the COVID virus causing issues with breeding farms not being able to move livestock to other countries or work at their peak capacity with stay at home orders (especially in Asian countries).

Have you tried local stores? Might have better luck since shipping shrimp tends to be more of an issue than shipping fish or corals (since shrimp fit inside of the bag creases when it moved around and can get stuck).

Mostly depends on the species - some eat a mixture of plant matter and also meaty-based foods, while others almost exclusively feed on meaty-based substances (some turtles for example snapping turtles).

Plenty of people do - it's the whole premise for “hydroponic systems” that take waste (from fish) and will use it as plant food since their waste is high in many nutrients.

I would also disagree. There is a thing as too much light, whether that is in terms of the duration it is left on OR the power (PAR) the light produces.

You nailed it with #1 - tanks far too small for the given fish that they want/have in the tank currently. My #2 would be lack of knowledge and just listening to these store employees sadly

I think that the plants probably look charming since they are swaying in the water current and tend to grow in colors that make fish species pop (a green leave by a red/blue fish for example).

What is the salt brand you are using?
Have you dropped any other brands for the current one and if yes then why did you do it? Why in your opinion the brand you're using is better than others?
