Which are easier to maintain? Is a saltwater tank w/ saltwater fish easier to maintain? I'm very new to this and would like some insight before going forward.

What, in your opinion, are the best fish to own for freshwater tanks? I'm just now getting into potentially buying a tank & fish but i'm not sure which I would like.

I know a friend who has fish, and i'm looking to maybe get a small aquarium in my den in the future. Is it hard to get started? I'm not sure all I would need for a freshwater setup though.
