I started my fish tanks in a similar manner. I used to feed my fishes and change the water once a month but then unfortunately so of my fishes died. This gave me an insight on how to maintain a fish tank.

It's always better to leave a little space while filling up the tank and leaving just an inch level.

I did have betta and guppies together but always betta goes to hunt my guppies. It seems that betta doesn't get along with other fishes.

Oh like people doing poultry farming, so do you do not raise them as pets....

Frogbit is a highly forgiving, fast-growing plant and an excellent nitrate absorber, fish of all shapes and sizes can find shelter in their long roots, though some extra maintenance will be needed

I keep my tank not directly to the sunlight but slightly exposed to it, maybe I should try moving and see whether its working.
-
After sunrise I'll turn on the lights and keep it on for 10 hrs then later in the evening switch it off, new fishes take some time to adjust to this schedule.

Now everything that helps in diagnosis is available on the internet , you need to have good observation to identify if something feels off with your fish.
-
If only a particular fish is infected then it can be handled or treated better than when the whole tank gets infected.
-
Not only that a quarantine is necessary so that any sickness that the infected fish is carrying does not spread to other fishes in your tank.

I regret placing guppy and betta fish in the same tank. But thankfully before anything could happen I gave my bettas away.

My great grandmother used to own a pond, I haven't witnessed it personally but my grandma used to tell stories about it.

Some guests who had come visiting our home had put some bread crumbs as feed for the fishes and most of my fishes were dead and floating with their stomachs bloated after feeding on it. I still cannot figure out whether it was a consequence of ignorance or a purposely done act.
That's awful really this is precisely the reason why I do not let any other person except me to feed my fishes.

I do have guppies in my fish tank but there is a slight anxiety that our fish might fall ill. I might get over it eventually, but now the fishes are all I worry about.

Water quality is the most important factor that affects the fishes health. Maintaining proper Ph. levels and adding adequate antibiotics would be a great help to keep your fishes healthy and vibrant. Having a good thermostat to maintain the water temperature would also be very helpful.
Yes, it's very true maintaining a moderate temperature and pH levels can prevent any risks of your fishes getting sick.

I don't even have to try, algae grows all on its own in my tank. I can't say growing algae is healthy for your fishes because there is no way to control the algae's population.
-
Algae blooms are really difficult to get rid of that's when I started to clean my tank with bleach water.
-
Green water is caused by a sudden explosion in the algae population, and it could multiply even more so try to clean it as soon as possible.
-
An algae bloom that is dense can deplete the oxygen in our fish tanks due to its high respiration rate. Some algae can even cause damage to the gills of the fish. So algae is bad for your fishes.

Eventhough I clean my tank on a 2 week basis, I still can't get rid of the algae problem. Is there any remedy against the growth of algae in fish tank?
