will turtles know not to eat the silk fake plants or do you have to use real plants only in case they eat them?

Following the article that goes over this (https://aquariu.ms/article/9-semi…orations-plants) I would avoid not using or getting any silk/plastic plants, since they tend to try to eat everything which would lead to an internal compaction from the plastic/silk (it's not food, so it would dissolve in their stomach or digestive tract).
