I have been surprised by some of the dramatic shifts in color I’ve seen with healthy fish as they age.

I agree; I would keep these in their own tank.

Wow, any luck getting rid of it yet?

Li0nFish raises a good point about the special diets; there are a lot of saltwater critters that are a bit more "speciality" than what you are used to for freshwater.

I think if you don’t want to get a new light fixture or change the specific bulbs out, you can always use something rated for the temperatures your light outputs that have a cloudy-like effect (similar to what doctor offices use on their lights on the ceiling).
Otherwise, you can try to dim the light before it hits the tank surface by applying a cloudy film over the glass lids (something similar to a thin wrap they on Amazon) to make it dimmer.

What kind of cloudy film though?

I finally found some of these!

They disconintued the sale of ALL fish in the stores in 2019. Part of this was tied to the outrage of customers pouring nail polish into the beta cup containers. It went viral and they have faced several fines and fees for animal abuse that was brushed under the rug.
Human beings never run out of ways to stop disappointing me.

I've seen some peopel claim fish can't eat cucumber, but I've seen most sources state otherwise.

When I was younger, I had a 30 gallon tank I believe it was that had a mix of different fish. One of them came down with ich and I did not treat it fast enough. Everything died but the one goldfish that was in the tank.
That's a pretty badass goldfish.

So the plants I bought a while ago likely had eggs on them. I have switched out everything from the gravel and even left items out to dry but they still keep coming back. The eggs must be microscopic or something!
A surprising number of, well, surprises tend to turn up when buying things for aquariums.

They are going well! I actually have had them mate a few times, but due to the lack of plants I have on the surface of the water, the eggs didn't hatch (or did hatch, but got sucked into the filter). I'm working on adding a pre-filter sponge to the intake, along with getting more plants to be at the surface of the water to protect the eggs.
How fast do they multiply?

Mudpuppies usually come out during the day only if the water in which they live is murky. And yes they make peculiar squeaking sound.
Given their name, I thought they would make a peculiar barking sound.

Do all amphibians live in water?
please tell me all members here in the comment section.. Thankyou!
What type of amphibian are you thinking about getting, or are you just curious generally?
-
How can they be boring? They’re so adorable.

Are you asking what resources one should recommend to others to get them to care for their fish appropriately, or are you asking how one should go about convincing them that it's important to care properly for fish in the first place?
-
This is true I suppose. The more you pay, the more inclined you are to care for them. I don't think this is the reason the prices have gone up so much though. I would guess it has to do with inflation and import fees.
I am sure that is true, though I still used to think fish were underpriced anyway. So long as people are motivated to take care of them, I don't care if it's really just because of inflation.

Your aquarium would look like a moving painting and a work of art.
You painted such a nice image! (see what I did there?)

Goldfish live long and are easy to maintain. You can choose Angel also, but it requires special care. Oscars on the other hand are easy to maintain and they too live longer.
Oh yeah, oscars are great!
-
The price was just the shipping. The fish themselves, those are anywhere from $35 to well over $100! So say I find one for $35, I still have to pay $65 PLUS tax for a single fish!
Wow, over $100 is brutal!

Goldfish require a lot of work, but I like that they can live for such a long time, so I keep them.
