No, I’m sure big tanks do just for the sake of it - but for anything less than 100 gallons or so I think it’s a bit overkill and forcing two coolers to turn on/off so frequently, probably lowers the lifespan of the units a bunch.

It is about 50gallons in size, underneath my larger tank in the cabinet area. I’d love to place it somewhere else so that when you open the bottom that you don’t just see another tank, but I have like no room anywhere else sadly

I purchased mine used and it was right around $700 for everything after refilling with some newer live rock, water, etc.

For freshwater tanks I tend to prefer to get a shoal species since it can be endless entertainment when watching. Plus, they can be fun looking at when feeding as they all race to the same small area at the top.

If I have a medium sized tank, it would be for sure Africans since they are tiny and can be shanking together if done right.
If I have a larger tank, 100% would go for South American since they are bigger, and make a big statement just by slowly moving through the tank.

With all of the stress and other elements, do you use a breeding box for when your livebearers are ready to pop? Or do you place them into a different tank? What do you personal do and what do try to avoid?

I had a couple snails in the same tank that were removed when i saw traces of ich in a fishless QT with a bta. Question is how long would I need to QT my bta now that those snails possibly brought ich into that tank? Or should I just separate after bleaching all equipment on 2nd QT?

I currently have a single tank controlled by an Apex 2016 unit integrated with Alexa. I am about to install a second tank in another room and are trying to understand my options controlling it with Alexa. The new tank will have it’s own Apex head unit, but how will it work when I want to use Alexa? Does only one work, do they both talk and sync?

Yes, especially when dealing with live rock and getting those starfish that aren’t good, or even worse, a bristle worm.
