UV can effectively eliminate cloudy water due to bacterial blooms and reduce the spread of nuisance algae in the tank.

Mollies are the best ways to eradicate and manage algae growth in a saltwater aquarium, especially in newly setup tanks.

There are quite a few aquatic plants that survive without a substrate namely Java fern, Java moss, Hornwort, Anacharis, Duckweed etc.
Duckweed would be a good and easier choice and it's said that goldfish love eating duckweeds.

Marimo Moss Ball are probably my favorite as they are compact, grow over time, and actually absorb a lot of toxins in the aquarium. I have 3 or 4 in my tank at this point but the largest one expanded over some rocks so it looks like a rug. lol
Oh so large!! Maintaining and cleaning of marimo moss ball is tricky i guess!!

What about hides? It would seem like many of them require some sort of place where they can feel safe and secure and not just out in the open.
That's the major advantage of planted aquarium over bare bottom tanks. Because some fishes need hiding places to hide from bigger or more aggressive fishes in the aquarium.

All health problems can be avoided by providing fish with an optimum habitat and suitable tank mates. Also maintaining proper water chemistry and pristine water quality will also be helpful.

These look like Diatoms. Diatoms are photosynthetic and live in fresh, salt, and hot water. They are algae in that they are aquatic plants and lack any vascular tissue, but they are only distantly related to other forms of algae, such as seaweeds, and are more closely related to brown and green algae. Typically, diatoms are about 10 micrometers in diameter.
They are mostly found anywhere moist. It also increases dissolved oxygen in the water.

Generally Algae helps in stabilizing the aquarium. Brown algae and green hair algae are very beneficial for additional filtration of nitrites and harmful toxins whereas staghorn algae is harmful to the fish tank.

Mixing incompatible fish together is not at all advisable. When choosing fish, make sure that every species is compatible with each other.

If you’re treating your tank with chemicals to fight some sort of disease or algae, then fish tank water might not be good for plants.

My dad regretted purchasing large Angel fish because they started attacking the other fish in the tank! I always thought angel fish were pretty, but I had no idea they were so aggressive. Eventually he chose to sell those fish and the tank was peaceful again, albeit with less fish in it since some got killed.
Moreover they produce excess amount of slime production and are very easily susceptible to diseases. So I totally regret buying angelfish.

My question would be is there any fish without scales? If at all, does it exist now?

Suggest some live aquatic plants that do not need substrate to thrive in the aquarium?

Maybe that's how initially most of them think having a fish tank i suppose. Even I seriously thought there won't be much maintenance while owning a fish tank. The one and only duty for us is to feed them. Now I feel, I was so dumb about it.

Actually Goldfish, Bettas, and Minnows will do just fine in a bare-bottom tank. Also, each species requires certain requirements with the tank. So the water type and temperature needs has to be checked.
