Programmable lighting vs. timers

    I keep seeing these high end lights with app based controllers on how to make it look like a rainstorm, cloudy, or even slowly ramp up lighting during dawn or djsk. Are these worth the high price? Are timers better overall then? Or even manually turning on and off?

    Honestly they are pretty sweet, especially if you are growing plants or sensitive fish that need a slow change from dark to light, and light to dark.

    Otherwise using a timer can work if you have multiple lights set to do the same rough thing (just not as sweet).
