Mixing different types of shrimp species?

Why do many avoid mixing shrimp species with other ones? Is crossing them bad, or is it to keep their specific coloration?

Well, looks like it’s bad. Now I have some ugly colored shrimp like red and blue mixed or odd colors not in the tank at all like a brown color

Normally it’s something many shrimp keepers avoid since the crosses between species (colorations) aren’t that great, and end up with poor looking colors vs. mixing colors as one would think.
