How do you guys handle the aspect that due to the weight of acrylic, on how to try to calculate the shipping charges? A bunch of places have some stupid good deals and I want to make sure I can afford it and not get shocked with an extremely expensive shipping charge that I did not expect.
Acrylic weight costing extra shipping price?

Yes, many places (dependent on the size of the tank) tend to just assemble it at its final destination (might be your house, or possibly a fish shop that can assemble it there) to save costs.
Acrylic is pretty heavy, but normally it’s the awkward sizing that makes it more pricey since it qualifies for bigger shipment costs based on size and weight.

Probably would be more cost effective to have it shipped in pieces, and then assembled locally.

Bought mine locally, so I have no idea.
