How can you tell if a coral is dead?

  • I have a friend who has a coral that hasn’t opened up for a week so far, and we’re both worried it’s dead. It still has color on the outside of where it opens up, but not sure if it’s just in a state of shock or if it’s gone already. Any advice?

  • You mostly want to look for any pure white on them, or for there too be no color (and for some they do not open up even if in the right parameters).

Do you have any photos by chance?

Does it like smell like how a dead snail would be chance? Like that rotting color? I don’t have any photos but I’m sure I can ask him for some.
