What filter do you mainly use on your tanks?

What type of filter do you use on your tanks and why? Do you find one easier to clean than the others, or do you use different ones based on the tank size and what the fish contains?

I would 100% go with sponge filters since they are easy to setup, cost almost nothing, and can run with the most sensitive types of shrimp, fish, and more. They may look pretty ugly and big depending on the size of the tank, but 100% worth it.
