How do you measure light levels in your tank

    Do you have this done from calculating lumens in the light source or with a light meter, or by using an aquarium specific light meter that can be read under water since water will refract the light more?

    I would suggest getting a PAR light meter, since it can sit at the bottom of your tank or at any level and tell you the actual light reading it’s getting back (since fish swimming around will change the light level slightly and same with the surface agitation).
