What type of maintenance do you do to your air pump to keep it quiet?

Do you add any type of like Vaseline to it, have it sitting on some type of soft material that you change or reset every so often, or any other type of mixture? I find the bubbles from the tank to be consistent, however the air pump itself creates random loud noises from time to time that are annoying.

Basic maintenance such as replacing the diaphragm or flappers would be more than enough. You can even check with your brand whether they have an air pump repair kit. So that your work would be much easier.

Usually a loud pump means that a part is going out and it's time to get a new pump. You can try various tricks for a while like changing the location of the pump, but keep in mind that it won't last long.

Some pumps are just normally loud because they're cheaper quality. You get what you pay for.
