Do you use carbon in your aquarium?

    Since many filters come with bags of carbon (that do have a limited lifespan before everything that they soak up is released again), do you use carbon in your tank and if so, how frequently do you replace the carbon to make sure it doesn’t leach out everything it soaked up?

    I do not, since it is a straight-up PITA to remove from canister filters and has little overall benefits unless you know you want to remove some trace element from the water over time (and know you replace them semi-frequently).
