for those with the aquarium, do you guys use tap water or do you go to the store and buy those gallons of aquarium safe water that they sell?
which should I use for a turtle tank?

Just use your tap water that has been chlorine free or has had it removed with water conditioners. The bottles you see on the shelf as basically glorified drinking water you can find at any grocery store for far cheaper.

100% agree, that bottled fish safe water is a scam. It’s just drinking water in a overpriced bottle.

We always used tap water in our tanks but we weren't rich to afford any of that fancy water
Has anyone ever done an experiment with two tanks to see which one fared better, tap or store bought water? That would be an interesting project to read about.
