What Causes Clamped Fins?

  • This is something I have never experienced myself but a friend of mine is almost certain a few of his fish have this issue. I have never even heard of it before.

Can someone explain what this is, what causes it, and if there is a way to correct it?

  • Clamped fins are caused majorly due to bad water and parasites. If you see any fishes with these symptoms isolate them and provide them with antibiotics and maintain proper ph levels in the isolation tank and wait till it recovers. Then also change the water in the main tank, flush out 80% of the old water and add new water add antibiotics and check the ph levels of the main tank to avoid the disease spreading to other healthy fishes in the main tank.
