I’ve noticed that Petsmart or Petco have plants with some being in the tubes, and some being in bags. What is the difference between the two minus species and why do they have them in such different like packaging? Is one harder to grow than the other?

Was going to bring this up, didn’t they learn trying to save money might not in the long run (like Tetra with their thin glass walls).

I know some local stores create their own “starter kits” that are fairly priced. As far as buying online, I’d have no idea unless you bought from a marine specific store.

Noticed that my local stores don’t even have these for sale and have a sign similar to what that group posted. Crazy that they didn’t see this in packaging them or anything else.

Ice cubes seem like a good idea, or even using those ice packs that kids use for their lunch boxes.

I’ve always placed it as it says on the box, so horizontal.

I have but sadly it seems like any tank of water I leave outside gets bugs that start to grow in it and it becomes pretty nasty.

Does anyone know if that type of paint is aquarium safe? I’m trying to paint a piece of decoration that I bought but has chips and missing paint all over.

Thank you for the explanation, I’ve never even heard of using mats or anything else underneath. I just always use the stand to make sure that’s level now

I keep everything on a surge protecter. $10 for piece of mind = ?

I sure that you have to feed them, but is it like with any specific? Like special foods, or ways you add it to the water or give it to them directly?
Or do they just make due with the lighting in the water and the waste that the fish produce (like how plants work in a freshwater tank)?

Interesting - are there any such albino African dwarf frogs? Or are those only the African clawed ones?

I love snails and shrimp! They are so cheap to buy and the way that they interact around the tanks are hella cool.

I keep seeing people online not have their tanks water all of the way to the top - is there a reason for this? To me it makes it look empty and you just see the white stains on the glass near the surface before the trim pieces.

Bug bites, Omega One, and the Hikari pellets

I had one that was Tetra branded and was awful. I heard a ton of people recommend the ones with rubber pads on the bottom (or where they touch the surface) and to also then place another light foam pad to make the noise level almost nothing.

I just use a rag, along with a sponge whenever I do water changes once a week or so.

Do you know of the DIY method they use? Is it cost effective and are there any like dangers using CO2?

I agree, definitely need to stop them selling smaller tanks that are like a gallon or two.

What are your methods for cleaning items that you find outside? Such as like river rocks, or even driftwood pieces?
Are these even safe, do you even clean them minus a rinse in water with a sponge?
