Any chance that you could try to get a mini-tank like those traveling ones, and scoop up the fry and the mother or where they are hanging out mostly at?

I know that as an adult you can clearly tell the difference between the two species, but as juveniles how can one see the difference? I feel like at pet stores they could have both accidentally and not even know - which is a huge issue if someone thinks their frog will be fine in a small tank and gets bigger than they think.

From looking online, just seems like you check if the temperature displayed on the unit matches that of what a thermometer display.

No clue on how to make it sync back up if it’s wrong/off.

I’d honestly say whenever you run into major issues. I’ve had friends who have had the same filter running but have changed parts out (like propeller or motor) and it keeps on going.

A lot of things have replaceable parts, which can show you a solid company vs. ones that try to not sell parts and make you spend money the second something breaks.

Probably once a week, even with a lid on mine it seems to just disappear or evaporate.

I have some of that fake coral in a my tank that Petsmart sells, also have a bubbler that is a chest that opens and close as it fills up with air bubbles.

I just saw this on the corner on my tank, and I’m not too sure what it is. I did recently add in snails so not sure if this is their poop or what?

I have a black one that is double sided to be dark blue. I think it was only like $20 or so for a big sheet that I had to cut myself to make it fit the way I wanted it to be on my tank.

No regrets since if I don’t like it one day I can just rip it off.

I don’t since I have my hang on the back filter where it mixes the whole top of the water 24/7.

Holy heck this place looks brand new! Wasn’t sure if I went to the right website at first ?

I keep seeing online people say that you need to keep a certain percentage of the water when moving tanks, or transferring fish, etc. Does water really hold that much beneficial bacteria?

I honestly just look at the review for the equipment and try to read through the false review that’s paid and a legit one. So far it’s been working out decently, but when in doubt I probably would skew more towards a known name brand than some knockoff brand name.

What aquarium games do you all play and which ones would you rate as being super realistic and which one would you rate as being extremely unrealistic and why?

100% agree, with the dollar per gallon sale going on and even other stores discounting kits it’s a perfect time! Hopefully there also are some Black Friday deals that will happen in the aquarium world too.

I’ve mostly seen fake coral that isn’t so obvious it’s fake, in a ton of tanks that either don’t have the require lighting or they don’t seem to have the huge requirement for feeding them nicely/easily in public places.

I wouldn’t worry that fake coral is cheap, but if you want to focus on other things I don’t think having real coral is a must like many think.

Are these things useful or even good compared to filters these days? I read the getting started guide but seem to always come across tanks wit these, or find them online for sale with older styled tanks.

I’ll try to add as much as I can for my area with the new points of interest. Thank you for adding that since using Yelp can be annoying enough of what others think or just trying to find local ones vs. big chains.

Yes, and it’s awful. I remember just trying to get past that stage and thinking it was my lights. But just daily cleaning it off from the glass, and decorations, seemed to have made it go away completely for now.
