Did your fish ever recover from the white spots?
I did used the tips suggested in the Fin Rot article to treat my brother's fishes that had the same issues and they did recovery perfectly.
Exactly as Gilbert said - white spots normally means Ich - in some cases however, it can be other things. If you could take a photo it would help to identify it better.
A friend of mine who's been into fish breeding for 20 years now suggested making use of salt, permanganate or copper sulfate for treating Ich.
Oh yeah, I used to get those when I started a lot because I was letting waste build up too much.
That's one of the things I don't allow my tank to get to because when the waste build up too much, it's not safe for the fishes all together.
The very first time my fresh water fish suffered from Velvet, it was a very horrible experience for me because it almost wiped out my fishes. I would never like to experience that again.
I’ve noticed since the pandemic that a lot of the common fish stores tend to now have breeders who have more genetic issues, or they are seemingly coming in with more illnesses than before (or normal). I’m not sure if this is due to them having to hold the fish longer and therefore overstocking the tanks before shipment, or if something else is going on.
The pandemic of coronavirus did affected everything and not just fishes alone. My friend's new stock didn't look as healthy as they used to be before the pandemic.
My first tank, everything died within a short span of time. But I never figured out what killed them.
Wow, that's so sad and a horrible experience. Did you later had another courage to start again? Some would give up completely.
Seriously, it's been so long since I have been looking for better clarification on this subject and now I have it. I simply can't thank you enough for that.
A friend of mine suggested making use of this site when it comes to trying to find a fish vet. Maybe you should try it out as well and see what comes up.
Vinegar water solution at 1:1 ratio is the best method to clean the tank and decoration materials as well.
Making use of Vinegar Water Solution 1:1 Ratio combined with Bleach works very well for me. I even recommended it to my friends as well.
This seems like a frequently mentioned cure-all for human issues too Too bad neither salt nor anything else is a true cure-all for problems aquatic or otherwise.
To some extent, salt works for certain health issues for fishes while in most cases it doesn't. I think it's more like a myth now, which is why it's always being mentioned always.
I found out that adequate feeding of your fishes goes a very long way in keeping them healthy and even help them be strong enough to recover from any minor health problems unlike when they are not feeding properly.
That looks like a fungal infection so order some medication
I think so too, although the picture quality isn't making it any easier for me to really pick out exactly what's wrong with fish. But I hope it's nothing serious.
You can add the following to it as well ;
Bacteria infection
Constipation
Flukes
Clamped fins
Dropsy
If you don't take good care of your fishes and even your pond as well, it would make the possibility of your fishes getting sick higher. If you don't feed them well, cannibalism will start and that's not a good sight.
I had that in my tank at its early stages before adding my fishes to it and they really enjoyed it as a source of food for themselves. It wasn't harmful at all to them.
I keep getting this algae coming back, but not sure why. I’ve wiped the glass down a few times and it keeps coming back which is confusing.
I hope that you later read the article that was suggested to you? I used the instructions in it for my own tank and it was very effective in taking care of them.
I'm not so comfortable with using that technique because it might be dangerous to the fishes. I rather make use of algae eaters and it works very well for me all the time.
That’s also a good idea! I tried to fish her up from the tank but she’s like a bullet. I’m thinking about puttin a mason jar in there and just pulling it out at night when they all rest in it lol
Do they ever rest at all? I haven't seen mine take a moment of rest. It's quite frustrating trying to get them caught up. Would it be possible to do it during their feeding?
